Merger of two adhesive specialists: Bodo Möller Chemie takes over Spanish General Adhesivos

Offenbach am Main/Germany, October 10, 2022 – With a merger, the German Bodo Möller Chemie Group keeps expanding its business in Spain and Portugal, and enlarges the expertise for the adhesive area in industrial applications. With the takeover of the Spanish distributor General Adhesivos SLU in October of this year, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group also expands by an additional adhesive laboratory. In addition to the already existing Adhesive Competence Center (ACC) in Poland, which performs chemical adhesive analyses as well as static and dynamic FEM calculations of adhesive bonds with reduction simulations, the laboratory in Spain offers especially mechanical plastic analyses and process simulations. The headquarters of General Adhesivos is in direct proximity to the industrial centers of Tarragona and Barcelona. “This merger is an essential component for us to demonstrate our own expertise on the Iberian Peninsula. Moreover, we expand our overall know-how through the team and the laboratory of General Adhesivos, pursuing a pan-European approach and a general organic growth strategy in this way solely through the two laboratories in Poland and Spain,” says Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board at the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. Both adhesive laboratories of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group are certified according to the Fraunhofer IFAM and can therefore prepare companies for audits according to DIN 6701.

75 years of adhesive expertise  
All over Europe, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group supports industrial users in the relevant steps from adhesive selection and constructive adhesive calculations all the way to the distribution. The close collaboration with Medmix additionally allows the optimal selection of the dosing and application technology for special adhesive applications. With almost 75 years of joint experience in adhesive know-how – almost 50 at Bodo Möller Chemie and additional 25 at General Adhesivos – the merged group constitutes a significant heavyweight in the adhesive market. Apart from the staff in the adhesive laboratories trained by the Fraunhofer IFAM, the Group is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The two laboratory locations of the Adhesive Competence Center (ACC) can perform pre-audits according to DIN 2304 and DIN 6701, thereby providing a valuable support to the industry.
