Bodo Möller Chemie expands partnership with Henkel for the electronics sector

Specialty chemicals for the future sectors E-mobility and 5G applications

Offenbach am Main/Germany, January 12, 2022 – The current existing close collaboration between Henkel and Bodo Möller Chemie Group is being intensified further. By expanding the sales and distribution cooperation, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group positions itself even more as specialty supplier for materials used for processing electronic and electrical components, focusing on the growing technologies of the future, such as E-mobility, and the expansion of fast data networks according to the 5G standard. “With this intensification, we are in the position to already keep expanding our very wide product range for the electro and electronics sector and we offer our customers completely new solutions for state-of-the-art electrical applications. Henkel is one of our long-standing partners from the industry, and our customers benefit from our know-how for the entire electrical engineering product portfolio,” says Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. The latest electronics adhesives and protective coatings for circuit boards are becoming especially important as electrical mobility and data connectivity via fast 5G networks increases, and the LOCTITE® products made by Henkel are optimally geared towards these applications.

Innovative and reliable

Innovations in the electronics sector are an integral part of everyday life – starting with modern hybrid and electrical vehicles, in aviation, consumer and entertainment electronics all the way to the networked devices of the Internet of Things. The core components – circuit boards, chips and electrical connections – must be protected. Even the dissipation of temperature is an important feature of coatings such as Conformal Coating, Glob Top, and Underfill. Special electrical adhesives, soldering pastes and conductive adhesives are used in manufacturing. “Modern electrical and electronic products are subject to enormous stresses while becoming more and more miniaturized. For example, temperature fluctuations, vibrations and other forces act on the components in an electrical or hybrid vehicle. It is our goal to make these applications structurally stable, reliable and production-friendly so they are feasible for our customers,” explains Dr. Christoph Schnöll, Technical Lead Structural Adhesives at the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.

All-rounder for future technologies

In the meantime, manufacturers have started to resort to aerospace technology in order to protect the electronic components in applications like vehicle construction. Henkel’s Conformal Coatings can protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) in a safe, reliable and sustainable way. With the product and knowledge spectrum for specialty chemicals, the entire Bodo Möller Chemie Group is a distributor of the new generation: In addition to the ready for use formulated systems, the team of experts is also available for selecting the best-fitting chemical products and their industrial application. Moreover, own laboratories such as the Adhesive Competence Center (ACC) provide advice about the implementation of adhesive processes and help customers in audits.
The close partnership with manufacturers like Henkel, in addition to the application expertise of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group, is the basis for the best individual solution that users can apply.
