November 9, 2015 – The Diplomatic Council (DC, www.diplomatic-council.org), a non-governmental global Think Tank accredited to the United Nations, and the London-based Diplomat magazine (www.diplomatmagazine.com) have entered into a far-reaching, strategic partnership. The agreement stipulates that both parties mutually support each other with regards to projects, programmes and events.
Venetia De Blocq Van Kuffeler, publisher and editor-in-chief of the prestigious diplomatic magazine, is appointed Diplomatic Council Chairwoman Diplomat magazine (UK), which makes her an official representative of the Diplomatic Council in the UK. The headquarters of the Diplomat magazine in London will become a DC Mission UK serving as the first point of contact for DC members and friends in the United Kingdom.
“We are very delighted that Venetia De Blocq Van Kuffeler has joined our leadership team – she probably is the best connected person within the diplomatic community in London”, says Hang Nguyen, Secretary General of the Diplomatic Council. The Memorandum of Understanding agreed on by both parties was formally signed in London by DC Chairman Felix A. Schweikert (Chair DC Global Speaking Forum) on behalf of the Secretary General. He also praises “Venetia De Blocq Van Kuffeler definitely stands in the centre of the diplomatic community in the British capital”.

Festive galas on January 25 in Frankfurt and on April 11 in London
On the basis of the new cooperation, the Diplomat magazine’s network of contacts will be offered the opportunity to attend events of the Diplomatic Council. The DC Gala on January 25 in Frankfurt will be the first official encounter of both networks. Vice versa, DC members shall be able to participate in selected events of the Diplomat magazine in London such as the Diplomat Award Gala on April 11, 2016 in London.

The London based Diplomat magazine has a readership of 15,000 senior members of the diplomatic community in the United Kingdom. The Diplomatic community in London is a powerful economic force as well as a politically influential one.
