The Hague (The Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium), April, 21, 2015 – The Diplomatic Council (DC, www.diplomatic-council.org) has started a global Students Organisation together with the Brussels Diplomatic Academy (BDA, www.brusselsdiplomacacademy.eu) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The DC Students Organisation is positioned as a network of highly motivated students from all disciplines who are committed and interested in international affairs and passionate about bettering this world. It is a Diplomatic Council sub-organisation and therefore follows the DC values based on the Charter of the United Nations. The aim is to connect students worldwide who are responsibility takers for societies and to form them into future leaders with the support of the DC members who are influential and highly recognised people from politics, economy, society and culture.
BDA director Gunter Gaublomme had been nominated as the Head of the Advisory Board of the DC Students Organisation. He says: “Our aim is to bring well educated and vibrant students together, representing a new generation of critical thinkers. We want to functioning as a spreader of ideas and encourages crucial thinking.”
By becoming a member of the DC Students Organisation students will be registered into a database which is, on request, accessible to selected DC corporate members which would like to contact the DC students. Moreover, the students will get the chance to meet DC members at regular events and build relations that will later possibly lead to a successful international carreer, creating a new generation of responsible leader.
Requirement for being able to apply for a DC Student Membership is a university enrolment. Hence, interested students have to send a university accreditation in PDF format at students@diplomatic-council.org when applying online at www.diplomatic-council.org/StudentsOrganisation.
The Brussels Diplomatic Academy (BDA) has a clear focus on economic diplomacy and international entrepreneurship. The BDA prepares students for a career in diplomacy and international business. In addition, the Academy offers a comprehensive range of seminars and executive courses to diplomats and business people. The institute is a first point of call for consultancy, research and coaching on all aspects of diplomacy and international business.
The Diplomatic Council (DC) is a United Nations (UN) registered global Think Tank founded with the objective to serve as a bridge between diplomacy, economy and society. Members committed and dedicated to the Diplomatic Council strongly believe that a thriving economy bringing prosperity to mankind is one of the best guarantors for peace. Consequently as members the Diplomatic Council welcomes not solely members of the diplomatic or consular corps but also personalities from industry, politics, society, culture and sports.
